
About Darrell Pitt
Darrell Pitt is the author of numerous published works, ranging from the award-winning Steampunk Detective adventures, the high-octane Teen Superheroes series and the Rosie Ryan Cozy Mystery series. He has had a lifelong love of the weird and the mysterious. His earliest memories are enjoying episodes of The Outer Limits, Tales of the Unexpected and the classic Twilight Zone series. Many of Darrell’s writing echoes a similar theme: the lone protagonist facing insurmountable odds.
When not writing, these days Darrell reads the works of Joe Hill, Harlan Coben, Michael Crichton and whatever book he has at hand. A resident of Melbourne, he enjoys life with his wife, overflowing bookshelves and a love of the mysterious.
Bio
2001: Winner of the Katherine Susannah Prichard Foundation Writing Contest.
2001-2012: Published short stories in magazines both in Australia and overseas.
2013-19: Began self-publishing the Teen Superhero series which now has twelve books. The first book in the series has 2,045 ratings on Amazon with an average of 4.3.
2013: Degree in Creative Writing (Distinction)
2014: Signed an eight book publishing deal with Text Publishing, a successful Australian publisher aligned with Penguin Australia.
2014: The Firebird Mystery, Commended by the Children’s Book Council of Australia for Younger Readers.
2017: A Toaster on Mars, was nationally shortlisted for the Russell Prize for Humour Writing in 2017.
2020: Masters of Information Management (Distinction)
2022-23: Published seven books in the Rosie Ryan Cosy Mystery series. First book has 314 ratings on Amazon with an average of 4.4.
Current: Working on a time-travel thriller novel, mystery book and another middle-grade fiction book.
